This week, we’re rebroadcasting and expanding upon one of our
favorite Second Life episodes from the archives with Tyler
Haney.
When you think about companies that have singlehandedly shaken
up the activewear industry, Outdoor
Voices is probably the first to come to mind, thanks to founder
and CEO Tyler Haney. At just 25 years old, Haney, a Boulder, CO
native and graduate of Parsons School of Design, founded Outdoor
Voices. What was once just a concept Haney came up with in her
bedroom now boasts well over 100 employees, $56 million in funding,
10 stores (and counting), and an army of loyal fans that swear by
the stylish, functional styles. Not to mention the popular
#DoingThings hashtag that the Austin-based company coined.
It’s hard to believe that Haney had a whole other career before
building her Outdoor Voices empire, but this is Second Life, after
all, so you know the drill. Haney’s career began at a fashion
startup incubator. Given that she moved around from the e-comm
department to the finance department, to the marketing department,
she undoubtedly learned a lot that would help her in eventually
launching her own company.

episode to hear more about how Tyler Haney’s vision for Outdoor
Voices came to life, and shop some of its chic pieces below.

Next up, the
woman behind cult-favorite bakery Milk Bar.
