8 Accessory Trends We’re Saying Goodbye to This Fall

There’s nothing like a statement
accessory to take even the simplest of outfits to new levels of
chic! And the new season does not disappoint when it comes to
head-turning embellishments. There’s no doubt we’ll be adding a

chain link necklace over our oversize sweaters, tying a silk
scarf in a ribbon around our necks to tap into the bourgeois trend,

trends coming at us faster than we can refresh our Instagram
feeds, it means it’s time to say sayonara to certain passé
accessory trends (we need to make some room our armoire, after

We’ve been layering our delicate pendant necklaces for some time
now, and while we probably won’t get rid of them entirely, it’s
time to add something chunky, modern, and new around our collars.

necklaces are everywhere right now—and they’re sure to add a
cool-girl edge to your cozy knits this fall.

Say goodbye to your ’90s chokers and instead add a bougie polish
to your fall outfit with the addition of a print silk scarf,
preferably tied as a ribbon around your neck as seen on the Celine
runway.

Logo tights had their moment at the beginning of the year, but
this autumn and winter, it’s all about getting your legs into
colorful stockings instead. Every shade of the rainbow is fair
game… From purple to marigold yellow, all the hues were seen
sashaying down the runways. For the evening, opt for a glittery
pair. This one is for the fashionably fearless among us!

Okay, so chunky “dad” sneakers are still going strong, but for
fall, it’s time to swap your sneakers for thick-soled boots
instead. Everything from combat boots to chelsea boots to trekking
soles to elevated Wellington boots are fair game.

There was an extended period of time where we had to be extra
vigilant about what we threw into our handbag—that’s because they
were altogether see-through! This season we’re casting our clear
PVC purses aside in favor of vintage-inspired, ladylike top-handle
handbags (preferably with chic metallic clasps) for a
vintage-inspired touch.

Pearls of all shapes and forms made an appearance on the fall
runways, from earrings to necklaces, headbands and clips. It’s time
to put our summer shell jewelry away and replace it with
sophisticated pearl-embellished options.

The one accessory that dominated the fall runways and fall
street style is undoubtedly the statement belt. It’s time to forgo
Western styles in favor of polished wide belts with chic detailing
such as oversize metallic buckles, mock-croc fabrics, or wrap
leather iterations. Cinch them at the waist over your blazer,
dresses, and sweaters.

I know, I know, every woman loves a huggie hoop earring, but
this season it’s all about larger-than-life long statement
earrings—particularly rhinestone- and crystal-embellished
danglers that jazz up even the simplest white tee and jeans.
